Vilma Attends American Heart Association Health Equity Action Summit 2010
July 21st, 2010Selected among the top key leaders throughout the nation, Vilma Andari will participate in and attend the American Heart Association Health Equity Action Summit 2010 held on July 21-22, 2010. The event gather leaders with particular expertise in this industry to discuss strategies to reduce health disparities associated with cardiovascular diseases and stroke through a health equity lens.
The goal of the summit is to develop and provide input on key action strategies to engage minority and other high-risk communities in support of the American Heart Association’s new 2020 Health Impact Goal: Improve the cardiovascular health of all Americans by 20%, while reducing deaths from cardiovascular diseases and stroke by 20%. The summit will be comprised of five key health equity work groups: Reducing Health Disparities through Advocacy, Community Health Care, Consumer Activation & Awareness, Health Care Quality Initiatives, and Patient Education. Vilma will serve on the Patient Education Initiatives Group.
